Joseph Adam Jonas was born on 15 August 1989 in Casa Grande, Arizona, United States. His father is a songwriter, musician, and former ordained minister at an Assemblies of God church while his mother is a former sign language teacher and singer.
He has an older brother Kevin Jonas, and two younger brothers, Nick Jonas and Frankie Jonas. He attended Eastern Christian High School in North Haledon, New Jersey.
Jonas dated Gigi Hadid, Taylor Swift, and Demi Lovato. He started dating English actress Sophie Turner in 2016. They got engaged in October 2017 and married on 1 May 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They held their second wedding in Paris, France on 29 June 2019. The couple has two daughters. In September 2023, Jonas filed for divorce from Turner in Miami, Florida.
