Dhruv: Biography, Family, Education
Dhruv Vikram was born on 23 September 1997 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, as the son of popular actor Vikram and his wife Shailaja Balakrishnan. He also has an elder sister Akshita is married to Manuranjith, who is the great-grandson of politician M. Karunanidhi. His paternal grandfather Vinod Raj was also an actor who acted in a few Tamil films.
Dhruv finished his schooling at the American International School in Chennai and then pursued further studies in filmmaking and acting at the Met Film School in London. Following that, Dhruv attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York.
Dhruv: Professional Acting Career
Dhruv was supposed to make his feature film debut with Bala's Varmaa, a remake of the Telugu film Arjun Reddy (2017). However, the film's release was halted after the producer was not satisfied with the final product. The film was later re-launched as Adithya Varma, directed by Gireesaaya, with Dhruv reprising his role. It was released in 2019. M. Suganth of The Times of India noted that "Dhruv Vikram delivers a performance that closely mirrors Vijay Deverakonda's intense and raw portrayal from the original, but with an added assurance and honesty that makes it more commendable, rather than being dismissed as mere mimicry".
Dhruv appeared in his father's 60th film, "Mahaan," which premiered on February 10, 2022, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. He not only acted in the film but also wrote and performed a song called "Missing Me."
