Actor Adil Hussain was born with the name of Khandkar Mohammad Adil Hussain on 5 October 1963 in an Assamese Muslim family in Goalpara, Assam. His father was the headmaster of a high secondary school, and he was the youngest of seven children. He studied philosophy at B. Borooah College, Guwahati, he started acting in college plays and performing as a stand-up comedian.
